Two Decades of Making Industry Connections

The Association of Trade and Forfaiting in the Americas("ATFA") was founded in 1995 and is a not-for-profit association of trade finance professionals that promotes informational exchange regarding the best practices of global trade finance in the Americas.

ATFA currently boasts around 100 members comprising banks, hedge funds, insurance companies, law firms and various corporations actively involved in Trade Finance.

In recent years, ATFA has been busy staging networking receptions throughout the Americas (see Event List) and as a result has seen its membership quadruple! Having recently hosted our 16th Annual Conference in Miami, we are preparing seminar-receptions in the winter in New York, Sao Paulo and possibly Panama. Our annual membership fee is currently US$750.

In spite of the prevailing 'global crises', ATFA continues to successfully raise its profile and boost its membership. We believe that our forum is ever more valuable during these trying times. ATFA educates its members by: 

  • organizing and providing seminars, lectures, convocations and publications on topical areas of international trade finance;
  • serving as a medium of exchange of information between organizations with an interest in forfaiting and international trade finance;
  • serving as a specialized trade association offering advice and counsel to interested parties involved in trade finance;
  • fostering national and international communication, cooperation and understanding by encouraging contact with similar trade organizations overseas and complementary organizations in the Americas; and
  • seeking to promote the highest degree of ethical and professional standards amongst the membership.
