The Association of Trade and Forfaiting in the Americas (“ATFA”) is an association of numerous institutions including banks, insurance companies, hedge funds and various corporations actively involved in the Trade Finance market in the US, Canada and Latin America. ATFA was founded in 1995 and is dedicated to fostering “networking opportunities” and promoting international trade throughout the Americas.
In recent years, ATFA has been busy staging receptions across the continent (see Events page) and as a result has seen its membership grow to more than 50. With another active agenda planned for 2010, including our 13th annual conference in Houston in May, we hope many more will join - our annual membership fee of $600 is a bargain! Other recent achievements include co-establishing a Brazilian Regional Committee with the International Forfaiting Association (see www.forfaiters.org) and forming a 'strategic aliiance' with the Florida International Bankers Association (see www.fiba.net).
In spite of the prevailing credit crisis, ATFA continues to successfully raise its profile and boost its membership. We believe that our forum is ever more valuable during these trying times. Please feel free to familiarize yourself with our association and website, and do not hesitate to contact us about becoming an ATFA member.
